Researching Grant Opportunities
Identifying as many potential grant-funding sources as possible for your organization requires careful research into the primary sources of funding: the public sector (federal, state, and local government) and the private sector (foundations and corporations).
We’re taking the mystery out of the process with this workshop on the basics of how to successfully conduct this research using several databases, including:
• Nonprofit Connect Foundation Directory
• GrantStation
• Foundation Directory Online
• Grants.gov
Presenter Julie Assel, GPC will offer strategies to expedite and organize your funding research; tips for how a development professional can coach an intern, a VISTA, or a volunteer tasked with doing grant research to deliver meaningful results; how to qualify the research results so that you can easily create a grants calendar that focuses on your best prospects; and how to approach funders who say they don’t take unsolicited applications.
Be sure to bring your laptop as this is a “working” session.
Please note: Attendance at this session is limited to 42 people. Be sure to make your reservation early!
