This 0.5k race is the first annual fundraiser for Joy Meadows, a non-profit building a community of foster homes. It will be a parody of the typical 5k complete with a swag bag, t-shirt, and a pretentious 0.5k bumper sticker to show what a socially conscious athlete you! There will be a costume contest for best group and individual. There will be a pitstop for donuts halfway through the grueling 500 meter race. Can't run that far? Register as a VIP and you can ride a golf cart for the race! There will be a photo booth and photographer to fill your social media feed. All runners will also get the $5 wristband for all of the booths at The Joy Day event immediately following the race. There will be bounce houses, obstacle course, face paint, giant bubble station, balloon guys, food and more! The race kicks off at 10 a.m., with the fun family event going until 1 p.m. Don't miss out! June 23rd 10 a.m., at the Basehor-Linwood High School track and field. Register today at www.joymeadows.org/joyrun.
