Webinar - Advocacy: Evaluation and Capacity Building
The most effective advocacy work happens when groups and coalitions know where they stand and can leverage their organizational strengths to work for social change. Bolder Advocacy, an initiative of Alliance for Justice, is leading the charge of nonprofits and foundations in their embrace of public policy.
This presentation will:
- Introduce participants to Alliance for Justice'’s free, online tools, Advocacy Capacity Tool (ACT) and Power Check for community organizing,
- Describe how they are being used, and
- Discuss evaluation principles.
Participants will complete the ACT!Quick, a short version of the Advocacy Capacity Tool, ahead of the webinar, and will dive deep into results, guided by ACT's creator and advocacy expert Sue Hoechstetter.
About the Presenter: Susan Hoechstetter, Senior Advisor for Foundation Advocacy Evaluation with Alliance for Justice, creates programs and materials that help nonprofits effectively evaluate and strengthen their advocacy efforts. Sue brings over a decade of experience in leading organizations to influence policy, and holds an M.S.W. and B.A. in Sociology and Political Science.
