Secondary Trauma Resource Center
- Nonprofit Member
The Secondary Trauma Resource Center provides training and consultation for agencies that wish to prevent and mitigate the effects of stress or secondary trauma on their staff. Working with vulnerable populations can often harm staff in emotional and even physical ways. Burnout and high turnover is costly and has a negative impact on client service. Social service workers, health care providers, emergency assistance staff and educators are just a few examples of those who benefit from this training and consultation. The STRC has pioneered a public-health based model that helps to create a supportive workplace environment to counteract the negative effects of stress and increase retention. Although the agency is still new, it trained over 3,000 workers from over 100 agencies in 2014. Contact the STRC to learn more about the training and consultation for your agency.
