Susan G. Komen Takes Home Six Awards at Social Media Club KC's AMPSFebruary 14, 2017Local breast cancer affiliate wins for Komen KC Night at The “K”, More Than Pink
partnership with Charlie Hustle and Biggest Big Idea Award (Biggest Bang for the Buck)
KANSAS CITY, MO – February 14, 2017 – Susan G. Komen Greater Kansas collected six AMPSKC awards at the 2017 Annual Social Media Club Kansas City AMPS Awards held at 28 Event Space. The award show, now in its third year, is a collection of the best in social media throughout the Greater Kansas City community and surrounding cities. Awards were judged by Social Media Club Des Moines.
“We are so honored and humbled to have received these awards tonight,” said Susan G. Komen Greater Kansas City Communications Director Michael A. Levine. “To be recognized by our communications peers for the work we do in support of our mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever is incredible. It was already a special night and then to be named the winner of the Biggest Big Idea Award was over the top. It was great to have been involved in such a diverse competition in a room with so many people we look up to personally and professionally,” Levine added.
Komen Kansas City was recognized (two gold awards and a silver) for its campaign to promote Komen KC Night at The “K” with the Kansas City Royals. A now annual event that gathered 1,100 supporters and raised nearly $45,000 from email and social media alone. Komen KC also took home two gold awards for their Be More Than Pink campaign with local clothing giant Charlie Hustle. The partnership, promoted exclusively via digital channels, raised more than $24,000 during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The local Komen affiliate entered multiple categories and was recognized for the following:
