Telling a story is one thing. Demonstrating program outcomes or impact is something else entirely. Challenging though it may be, the demand for this kind of information is growing as organizational leaders, program managers, funders, and donors become increasingly astute in the questions they ask and the progress reporting they expect. It’s no surprise that GuideStar is promoting the opportunity to include data about outcomes/impact in an organization’s profile, and that Charity Navigator intends to add performance tracking to its review and rating process.
In this workshop we’ll talk about the challenges and benefits of the sometimes imperfect science of performance measurement. We’ll review examples of progress indicators being used by organizations across the nonprofit sector to track everything from program impact to financial sustainability. The session will also include dedicated time for participants to work independently or in small groups to define/refine the performance indicators for their organization.
Presenters Denise McNerney, CEO and Lynne Brown, Vice President of Strategic Consulting, iBossWell, Inc., have worked with hundreds of nonprofit groups across the country. Their exceptional insight into the characteristics and practices of successful organizations make this a workshop not to miss.
