YNPNkc All-Access Tour at Literacy KC
Join the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Kansas City (YNPNkc) for a happy hour and tour of Literacy KC!
There are nearly 225,000 adults in the Kansas City metro that cannot read above an 8th grade reading level. There are approximately 145,000 adults that are functionally illiterate, meaning they read below a 4th grade reading level. Literacy KC is advancing literacy for adults and families in Kansas City through direct services, advocacy and collaboration.
Take a tour of their space and learn more about Literacy KC. After the tour, take advantage of the the opportunity to ask questions of Gillian Helm, Literacy KC's Executive Director, and one of Kansas City's emerging young nonprofit professionals. Drinks and light appetizers will be provided, and feel free to come and go as you please to this casual networking event.
To thank Literacy KC, we're asking for a $5 donation at the time of registration that will go towards Literacy KC's Student Needs Committee, which helps fund a variety of student needs such as the purchase of computers, eye glasses, transportation and more.
