The Southtown Council is a non-profit organization serving South-Central Kansas City since 1982. With a membership of over 300 the Council provides a communication network between businesses, associations, institutions and neighborhoods to create the environment for greater economic and community growth. Simply put - we work to make the community better.
The Southtown Council facilitates community betterment, connections and volunteerism through active committees, programs and regular networking. As part of our core mission to connect and improve our community, we have developed a strategic partnership with and powers partner organizations including the Southtown Foundation, Brookside and Waldo Business Associations, and Brookside, Waldo and Troost Avenue Community Improvement Districts. Collectively we connect stakeholders in Southtown to foster economic development and growth; strengthen existing businesses and welcome new ones; promote Southtown resources and achievements; initiate corrective actions where needed; and maintain Southtown as a great place to live, work and do business.
